Sahar Baghayeri Efremova began painting at the age of nine, attending free classes at the Faculty of Art of Ferdowsi University as an independent student — the youngest ever accepted. Guided by Master A. Seydani and inspired by her sister, a graphic-design student at Sooreh Art School, she quickly developed a disciplined eye for color and emotion. At eleven, she held her first exhibition in the basement of her family home in Neyshabour, the ancient Persian “City of Civilization and Culture.”

From the outset, Sahar’s path reflected both talent and conviction. At fifteen, a prestigious Iranian school initially rejected her unconventional outlook, yet reversed its decision after her growing success in regional art competitions. She agreed to enroll only on the condition that a friend — another girl — be admitted as well, an early gesture of courage and solidarity that mirrors the values present in her art today.

Eager to unite logic and beauty, Sahar later studied at Tehran Polytechnic (Amirkabir University of Technology), among the few women in her cohort. Traveling weekly between Mashhad and Tehran, she painted through the nights, producing her celebrated work The Blind Voices of Colour (2014), now in a private collection.

In 2019, Sahar and her sister founded Sam Gallery, which soon attracted collectors across the Middle East for its luminous works exploring love, peace, and universal harmony. Working primarily in oil on canvas, and occasionally in aquarelle, pastel, and mixed media, Sahar’s paintings are known for their warmth, structure, and meditative energy.

Since 2022, she has lived in Europe — first in Venice, then settling in Cologne — where she continues to refine her artistic language, blending Persian depth with European sensibility. Her works invite viewers to pause, smile, and rediscover happiness through color and light.
