Cologne is home to 180 nationalities and 1.1 million residents living peacefully together. The city’s iconic cathedral, the Dom, defines its identity as the “Dom-Stadt” – a major European landmark and symbol of unity. Dom International is a series created by an Iranian lady and her Russian husband to express their gratitude for Cologne’s welcome.

The artworks feature a personified Dom character that playfully engages with various cultures and traditions. Without gender, religion or nationality, this character embodies openness and curiosity, friendliness and respect, reflecting the wonderful people it encounters. Through these light-hearted images, the authors spread Cologne’s message of unity of people around the world.
